Bastian Schweinsteiger retires from football

Bastian Schweinsteiger has called it a career after a trophy-filled run for club and country.

The Chicago Fire is going to return to Soldier Field next season, but Bastian Schweinsteiger won’t join them.

The German football superstar announced his retirement on Tuesday, which put an end to a trophy-filled career for both country and club. A key cog on the 2014 World Cup championship team of Germany, Bastian Schweinsteiger played the last 3 years of his football career in MLS with Chicago. The German great won eight Bundesliga titles, seven DFB Pokal trophies, and a Champions League title with Bayern Munich before an FA Cup with Manchester United prior to his arrival in the Windy City.

For his nation, he appeared in three World Cup tournaments and four European Championships and now he will go down as one of Die Mannschaft’s greatest football players of all time.

New Fire owner and chairman Joe Mansueto said in a statement that Basti had meant so much to their club and it was an absolute pleasure to watch him play. Joe Mansueto added that Bastian’s football IQ was so elite that you could see he was three steps ahead at every turn. He was a leader, a great teammate, and also a generational player who helped in putting Chicago Fire on the world map.

Schweinsteiger scored 8 goals and had 15 assists in his 3 years with Chicago Fire, including a pair of MLS All-Star nods. He spent time in the central defense and midfield for Chicago, which will have a sizable hole to fill and more financial freedom to do so. According to recent MLS Players Association figures, he was the fifth-highest-paid player in the league in 2019, earning up to $5.6 million.

Fire manager Veljko Paunovic said that Schweinsteiger announced his decision of retiring to the club in the locker room following their season-ending win over Orlando City.

Cristiano Ronaldo Selling Former Manchester Mansion for £3.25M

Having left Manchester United almost one decade ago, it is not surprising that international football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to say goodbye to his home in the affluent English village of Alderley Edge, only 15 miles far from his former playing ground at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently playing forward for Italian club Juventus, listed the three-story brick, five-bedroom house on Monday, Aug 26th for £3.25 million (about US$4.1 million), according to listing records.

The Portuguese football player is also set to take a £600,000 loss if it is sold for that asking price. The 33-year-old international star purchased the house for £3.895 million over one decade ago, according to a title document that was filed with the Land Registry in 2007.

The house’s images reveal Cristiano Ronaldo’s surprisingly Gothic taste in furnishings. The decor that is left in the house is almost black, including a black shag and cowhide rugs, sheer black curtains, and a plush charcoal-gray couch.

Otherwise, the house has fairly traditional finishes, including hardwood floors, light stone-tile, and tall windows.

There is also a slew of luxurious amenities such as a pool, a steam room, spacious white-and-black lacquer kitchen (the team colors of Juventus), a gym, and cinema room, according to images of the house, listing with local real estate agency Benson Bunch.

In total, there are three en-suite bedrooms, including a large master suite with two adjoining bathrooms along with a walk-in closet.

This is the second time the Portuguese football star has marketed his former home in England. According to an old listing for the home, the property of the footballer first hit the market in 2013 for £3.75 million.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Manchester United in 2009, could not be reached for comment.

Winning penalty shootout over AC Milan, MU can not be ICC 2019 champion

Beating Milan 5-4 in the penalty shootout, Man Utd just won 2 more points. With 8 points, “Red Devils” could not take the top place of Benfica (9 points) at ICC 2019 and missed the chance to be the champion in ICC 2019.

Not playing with the best team in the final match at ICC 2019 but Man Utd still follow high-pressing way and cornering into the opponent’s field right after the opening whistle. The pressure of the Reds paid off in the 14th minute with Rashford’s goal. The English striker went relatively easily from the left before launching a shot to defeat goalkeeper Donnarumma.

AC Milan tried to attack immediately after the goal. Even when they were struggling with finding De Gea goal, they suddenly got a goal. In 26 minutes, Suso sent a beautiful left-footed shot from outside the box to set the score 1-1 after the first 45 minutes.

In the end of fist haft, Milan is the better team. However, the striker Krzysztof Piatek lacks a bit of luck in two situations facing David De Gea. The first half ended with a 1-1 draw.

AC Milan was the more active team in the second half. After several missed opportunities, Serie A representatives scored a goal to lift the score to 2-1 after Lindelof’s own goal in the 60th minute.

After the goal, Solskjaer coach made many changes. Jesse Lingard came on and didn’t take much time to score a 2-2 equalizer for Manchester United in the 72nd minute, following the path of Marcus Rashford.

At the last minute, the pressure weighed on the goal of Pepe Reina. Strange young MU play full of confidence but lacks accuracy in the decisive phase. The match ended with a 2-2 draw.

The two teams had to settle on the 11th minute when 90 minutes ended with a 2-2 draw. All 5 players of MU finished exactly while Daniel was the only one who failed the Milan side.

Can only beat AC Milan on penalty points, Man United missed an appointment with the championship ICC 2019.

MU Great Chelsea battle right in the opening round of the Premier League

Manchester United will face Chelsea in the opening game of the English Premier League in the 2019/2020 season, while Manchester City and Liverpool only have to meet their opponents.

The Premier League schedule for the 2019/2020 season has just been officially announced. Notably, the opening day of the new season in the mist will see the confrontation between the two greatest teams in England: Manchester United and Chelsea.

Specifically, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will encounter Chelsea at 22:30 on Sunday 11 August. This is the most remarkable match in the first round. At the first full season with MU, Solskjaer had to face a very difficult challenge even though his opponent Chelsea no longer had Eden Hazard and could not sign any new player in this summer.

Currently, the transfer of MU still makes fans worried. There are no truly outstanding faces who landed Old Trafford to join the Red Devils to carry out the revolution of human resources.

Meanwhile, the opening match will take place between Liverpool and rookie Norwich City on 2:00 am on Saturday 10 August. Both Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City promise a smooth start when they encounter opponents who are easy to breathe.

However, the joy of Champions League side Tottenham is only stopped in the first round. The first 4 matches, Tottenham will have to face both Man City and Arsenal – very heavy opponents.

Meanwhile, Man City has a relatively favorable schedule. The first 6 rounds, Pep Guardiola’s team only have to meet West Ham, Tottenham, AFC Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion, Norwich City and Watford. The difficulty came only in November when Man City had to meet Chelsea and MU in a row.

Chelsea, the third team last season, will fight without Hazard in the squad. After a trip to Manchester United in the first round, Chelsea will host Leicester City on home soil before meeting two rookies Norwich and Sheffield United.
